Complete Guide Overview

Planet Money has been making economics interesting since 2008. By 2026, their podcast empire includes flagship episodes like "The Indicator," "Planet Money Summer School," and deep dives into everything from crypto crashes to banana tariffs. But for fans who want to wear their love for GDP growth on their sleeve, there's the Planet Money Merch Store.

This guide covers everything you need to know about Planet Money merchandise in 2026: what's available, how to pick the right item, where to buy official gear, and answers to common questions. Whether you're a loyal listener or just discovered the show, there's something that fits your style.

How to Choose Planet Money Merchandise

Consider Your Daily Use

Planet Money merch isn't one-size-fits-all. The Featured Product - a classic cotton tee with the Planet Money logo - works for casual wear or showing off at economics trivia night. At $28, it's a staple.

For coffee-fueled indicator analysts, the Indicator Mug ($16) keeps your brew warm while you ponder inflation data. The design features the show's signature line: "The economy explained." It's dishwasher safe and holds 14 ounces.

Express Your Favorite Episode

Some items reference specific episodes. The "Summer School" tote bag ($22) celebrates the annual series, with a design that nods to lecture halls and textbooks. The "This American Life" collab hoodie ($55) - a rare crossover from the parent show - dropped in 2025 but remains popular in 2026 collections.

Material and Fit

All official apparel uses 100% combed ring-spun cotton for tees, pre-shrunk to avoid surprises. Hoodies are a cotton-polyester blend for warmth without bulk. Sizes range from XS to 3XL, with most items unisex. Check the size chart on each product page before ordering.

Where to Buy Official Planet Money Merch

The Official Planet Money Store

The only place to guarantee authentic, high-quality merch is the official Planet Money store. This is where new drops appear, like the limited-edition "Inflation Fighter" t-shirt released for the 2026 midterms. Prices range from $12 (stickers) to $65 (embroidered caps with leather patch).

Planet Money's Merch Collection

Want to see everything in one place? Visit Planet Money's merch collection on the store. It's sorted by category: Apparel, Accessories, Home & Office. New items are tagged "Just Added" with the month and year.

Third-Party Retailers

Planet Money does not authorize third-party sales. Official items only come from the store. If you see a Planet Money shirt on another site, it's likely counterfeit. Stick to the official channels for quality and to support the show.

Sales and Discounts

The store runs occasional sales: usually 15% off during NPR's pledge drives (April and October) and a Black Friday 20% off sitewide. Newsletter subscribers get a 10% welcome discount code. No promo stacking, but free shipping on orders over $75.
